I thought I would add one. This song really gets me:

Mika - Any Other World

In any other world
You could tell the difference
And let it all unfurl
Into broken remenance

Smile like you mean it
And let youreself let go

Cos its all in the hands
Of a bitter bitter of man

Say goodbye to the world
You thought you lived in
Take a bow
Play the part
Of a lonely lonely heart
Say goodbye to the world
You thought you lived in
To the world you thought you lived in

I try to live alone
But lonely is so lonely
So human as I am
I had to give up my defences

So I smile and try to mean it
To make myself let go

Cos it's all in the hands
Of a bitter bitter man

Say goodbye to the world
You thought you lived in
Take a bow
Play the part
Of a lonely lonely heart
Say goodbye to the world
You thought you lived in
To the world you thought you lived in

Cos it's all in the hands
Of a bitter bitter man

Say goodbye to world
You thought you lived in
Take a bow
Play the part
Of a lonely lonely heart
Say goodbye to the world
You thought you lived in
Say goodbye to the world
You thought you lived in
Say goodbye to the world
You thought you lived in
Say goodbye to the world
You thought you lived in
Say goodbye to the world
You thought you lived in

To the world you thought you lived in

In any other world
you could tell the difference

more dire than most of our scenarios but that dx moment is well written huh. and the priority shift.

track "24"

Been given 24 hours
To tie up loose ends
To make amends
His eyes said it all
I started to fall
And the silence deafened
Head spinning round
No time to sit down
Just wanted to
Run and run and run
Be careful they say
Don't wish life away,
Now I've one day

And I can't believe
How I've been wasting my time

In 24 hours they'll be
Laying flowers
On my life, it's over tonight
I'm not messing no I
Need your blessing
And your promise to live free
Please do it for me

Is there a heaven a hell
And will I come back
Who can tell
Now I can see
What matters to me
It's as clear as crystal
The places I've been
The people I've seen
Plans that I made
Start to fade
The sun's setting gold
Thought I would grow old,
It wasn't to be

And I can't believe
How I've been wasting my time

In 18 hours they'll be
Laying flowers
On my life, it's over tonight
I'm not messing no I
Need your blessing
And your promise to live free
Please do it for me

In 13 hours they'll be
Laying flowers
On my life, it's over tonight
I'm not messing no I
Need your blessing
And your promise to live free
Please do it for me

I'm not alone, I sense it, I sense it
All that I said, I meant it, I meant it

And I can't believe
How much I've wasted my time

In just 8 hours they'll be
Laying flowers
On my life, it's over tonight
I'm not messing no I
Need your blessing
And your promise to live free
Please do it for me

In just 1 hour they'll be
Laying flowers
On my life, it's over tonight
I'm not messing no I
Need your blessing
And your promise to live free
Please do it for me

I have another song that fits somehow:

Editors - Bullets

http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=g9tA3y0qD2A

If something has to change then it always does
If something has to change then it always does

You don't need this disease, not right now
No, you don't need this disease, not right now

Oh you don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease

If something has to give then it always will
If something has to give then it always will

You don't need this disease, not right now
No, you don't need this disease
Not right now, no, no, not right now

You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't

Would you fall down
Would you fall down

Oh you don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't know, won't fall down

You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't
You don't need this disease you don't

Counting Crows....

Just down the street from your hotel, baby
I stay at home with my disease
And aint this position familiar, darling
Well, all monkeys do what they see
Help me stay awake, Im falling...

Down on virginia and la loma
Where I got friends wholl care for me
You got an attitude of everything I ever wanted
I got an attitude of need
Help me stay awake, Im falling...

Asleep in perfect blue buildings
Beside the green apple sea
Gonna get me a little oblivion, baby
Try to keep myself away from me

Its 4:30 a.m. on a tuesday
It doesnt get much worse than this
In beds in little rooms in buildings in the middle of these lives which are completely meaningless
Help me stay awake, Im falling...

Asleep in perfect blue buildings
Beside the green apple sea
Gonna get me a little oblivion, baby
Try to keep myself away from me

I got bones beneath my skin, and mister...
Theres a skeleton in every mans house
Beneath the dust and love and sweat that hangs on everybody
Theres a dead man trying to get out
Please help me stay awake, Im falling...

Asleep in perfect blue buildings
Beside the green apple sea
Gonna get me a little oblivion, baby
Try to keep myself away from me

I cant keep myself away from me
How am I gonna keep myself away from me

I always get secretly tearful when I hear Nina Simone's "Feeling Good"...
I visualise myself singing it when a cure is found.
I imagine all of us singing it together when that oul cure is found.....

Birds flying high you know how I feel
Sun in the sky you know how I feel
Reeds driftin on by you know how I feel

(refrain:)
Its a new dawn
Its a new day
Its a new life
For me
And Im feeling good

Fish in the sea you know how I feel
River running free you know how I feel
Blossom in the tree you know how I feel

(refrain)

Dragonfly out in the sun you know what I mean, dont you know
Butterflies all havin fun you know what I mean
Sleep in peace when day is done
Thats what I mean

And this old world is a new world
And a bold world
For me

Stars when you shine you know how I feel
Scent of the pine you know how I feel
Oh freedom is mine
And I know how I feel

damn i was a huge nin back in the day. :)

look up the 'hurt' vid done by johnny cash if you want your heart really broken.

there's a great song by an indie band Stars called midnight coward: the second verse opens with "sickness, weakness at the fall" which always gets me.

I've gotta add one Stars-related song. They did a song called Reunion, which is OK, but Jason Collett did a remake of it that I love. If I had to bring it back to a lyric that might be relevant to this thread, "All I want is one more chance to be young and wild and free."
