Bromley,
For those of us with progressive MS it can get a bit discouraging when the focus seems to be entirely on relapse rate. This news is good to hear!

Sure hope this research is put on the fast burner. What a discovery since drugs are already on the market to possibly treat the disease.

New research carried out at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, led by Professor Chris Linington, showed that some people with MS have specific antibodies (a type of immune molecule) which attack nerve fibres.
Not to seem the eternal pessimist, but the word "some" always gives me pause.

The long history of MS research has shown that if something isn't a constant, it's not related to "the" answer.

I look forward to hearing more about this. Until my ms I was one of those people my friends described as having the constitution of a carthorse - I was NEVER poorly. Perhaps it is all down to an individuals antibodies and what they are programmed to attack.
