Personal Provigil Experience

Today was my first day on provigil. I took 100mg at about 10am and another 100mg at about 12:30pm. After about 20min of taking the second dose (ie before it probably was assimilated), I actually almost had an afternoon nap! It really felt like I had taken a sugar tablet (ie no effect). A little later I went out to do the chrissy shopping.

Surprisingly, I was able to stay out walking around the shops much much longer than usual. It appears the second tablet really had a positive effect on my fatigue.

I was actually hoping that it would have an effect on my motor skills (ie improve my ataxia and balance), but I cant really say I noticed anything in that area. As it was my first time on this drug, I decided to not take any 4-AP as well, so it will be interesting to see how they work in combination.

Another thing I noticed is how expensive this stuff is. It surprised me when I got the tablets and it was a different brand to "Provigil" which to me implied it was out of its patent, but I am thinking it may just be licensed to another pharmaceutical company in Australia.

Apart from the increase in stamina (ie less fatigue), I can not tell in any way I have taken any drug whatsoever. There was no feeling of an amphetamine rush or euphoria or "being on edge".

I will let you know how I go with it over the coming days.

lol yep that i am...hehehe only cause i just read a email about here at work...lol...so being correct is only cause of work here..lol..my insurance company states the reasons its that high is cause one it doesnt have a generic for it right now and two cause its not a drug that is associated with any one disease and since they havent given me a diagnostic yet the insurance makes me pay a higher co pay for that reason cause its not a preventive drug for a disease...hope that makes sense to you...thats the best way i know how to explain it to you..i wasnt happy about it but its a better co pay then it could be i guess..i have been on the drug for almost a yr now....and if i miss a dose or go for more then a day without it i get really bad with memory and focus and working sucks when i dont have the drug in me..

Dear Bob and Chris,

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
As the daughter of a Jewish dad and Christian mom, I'm thankful to be living in the land of religious tolerance... :)

I'm also thankful today for meds, specifically Provigil.
My husband has been doing so well on 200 mg., split 100 in the morning and 100mg at noon. He is also awake, not jumpy, but very "present." It's been a huge blessing for our whole family. Not sure what our co-pay will be, since our insurance just approved it. I bought the first month outright at $350!

best,
AC

Kim's been on 200mg Provigil for years and it's been her "mother's little helper". It's not a cure, and it doesn't help with balance but it is THE answer for fatigue. I also speculate that it helps Kim's attitude in that she CAN DO MORE each day and feel more accomplished each night. It's a real boost to Kim's positive spirit in dealing with MS. Ken

This morning I stopped at a store in our small town where everyone is either Christian or not religious and non offended (probably where I fit in).

After the transaction the kid said "happy holidays" and I told him that he could say "Merry Christmas" around here and not risk offending anyone, but he said the manager told him that any of their employees who didn't say "happy holidays" risked termination.

It's hard to believe that the Pilgrims came to America to get away from religious persecution and that America was founded on the belief of Christianity and we've let things get to this point.
Merry Christmas!

OK. I know this is off-topic but...anyhow...
My father is Muslim.
My mother is Jewish.
My husband is Catholic.
I'm agnostic and I do find a lot of truth in what Mr. Mason says.

hate to be a thread nazi, but back to the topic...

Some more things I have personally noticed.

I have only one side effect from the Provigil (or Modavigil as sold here in Australia)(apart from the hole in my back pocket caused by the cost) is that my urine has a synthetic smell about it. I am sure I have read to expect this somewhere.

Today I took 100mg at about 10am, and another around 3pm (yes, a little late, but I was up till 2am last night for vonner). I was dozing off at about 3:30pm. I went on my exercise cross-trainer about 5pm, and didn't notice any improvement in stamina.

I commonly have issues falling asleep at night, any caffeine during the day will cause issues for sleep, but this stuff does not seem to have a negative effect on my ability to fall sleep.

I knew I would get a name for myself. And now, once a dictator, its hard to live down the reputation.

Vonner are the the people that make the supplements that "Chris55"'s daughter has done so well using (here). Try the "Google" search on the right, selecting "This is MS".
