hey Terry-

No, the doc uncle wasn't saying MS was preventable (he's smarter and more compassionate than that) He meant that autoimmune diseases are often an "opportunity" to put health concerns first, and to take care of one's self. My husband was a workaholic, and never thought twice about his health. no more.

as he likes to joke-
"I've got the gift of MS. Can I give it back?"

Hi Cheerleader,

It's been awhile since we did the testing, but the company we went through was Sabre Sciences. We were able to get the test kit from a local ND and then do the test at home. The kit comes with cotton swabs that you chew on every 4 hours and then put them in their containers and freeze them. You then FedEx the kits to the lab and they will send the results back to your doc.

The results show the range of hormones at each time frame that you use the swabs. You are then given a custom hormone cream that you apply daily. It is amazing how many different things your hormones affect. One of the main issues is how your body uses water, and that affects everything from detox to dehydration. Sabre Sciences is just one company that does the kits, and there are compounding pharmacies all over the US that can make the cream. I am not sure about the health insurance. It's scary to say, but we haven't had health insurance on my wife in about 8 years. I know that most of the treatments we do wouldn't be covered, so we have chosen to pay cash for everything instead of paying for insurance.

You can check out Sabre Sciences at http://www.sabresciences.com/companyInfo.htm
