Hi everyone, I've been reading these forums for awhile and you all seem quite helpful so I'm hoping you can answer my question for me.

sometimes I my arms (sometimes one at a time but sometimes both at the same time) start to tingle and then I get pain in my upper arm muscle that feels like a really bad cramp. my arm also feels heavy and weak and like I can't move it, but I can. Also the movements are very exagerated. for instance, it happend once in my friends car and as I reached to put on my seatbelt I ended up punching myself in the fact. the pain lasts a few minutes but the tinglyness from including my neck down to my fingertips lasts an hour or more. My L'Hermettes (sp?) is also affected by it, it usually sends the electric shock type of feeling to my toes but when this is happening it goes to my fingers instead.
anyone experience this?

Also, sorry to make my post so long but I figured since I'm typing I may as well share my whole story.

I'm have NOT been diagnosed yet. back in October I woke up tingly in my hands and from my knees down. the next morning it was my hands and everything from my chest down (everything except my arms and head). my MRI showed a lesion at C2/C3 and my LP showd elevated IGg and >5 O bands. They ordered and MRI with enhancement but the two people that tried to inject me could not find a vein so after about 10 tries they gave up. I go back to my neuro in April.

should I call my neuro regarding my arm thing? It did not effect my arms before and althoug my original symptoms have lessened they have not disapeared. and since the arm thing goes away eventually, maybe it's unrelated?

thanks, any information will be appreciated although I know there are not a lot of answers with MS or possible MS I should say.

Welcome to the forum and glad you asked for assistance. As you already know, there are many participants here who can offer a lot of excellent information.

I would suggest that you keep a detailed log of your symptoms and after a week or two, call your neuro's office to let them know. MS can present a multitude of various symptoms that are different in each patient and can vary day to day. It's a disease that can be extremely difficult to diagnose since the symptoms can be caused by other problems as well. Good luck.

Welcome even though would probably rather not be here!

I say you should go ahead and call your neurologist. You have the lesions and the lp shows something. Even though you didn't have the contrasting agent to show enhancement I think your neuro needs to know you are experiencing these symptoms. The he/she can help you decide your course of action. No need to wait until it worsens (if it does). Why not get some answers now? Just my 2 cents!

thanks for your imput I appreciate it. I think the reason they are waiting is because the MRI only showed the one lesion on c2/c3, nothing on the brain.
the problems I'm having with my arms now kind of freak me out though because I don't know if it's related or something different. as of right now my diagnosis is transverse myelitis (sp?).

Im in the same boat as you. dont havea dx yet. I have had a similar problem and I would def tell your neuro I have started logging all my symptoms like the above poster suggested. I would say that no matter what you have be it MS or something else that it will definintely help in the long run. I knowI often forget almost everything no matter its improtance (another sign of MS)
