sclerotic but patent--What does that mean

I have relapse remitting MS and have been having a lot of pain in my left upper leg, hip and back. My doc is on vacation and another one did xrays and just emailed me the results without explaining them.
Said my SI joints, especially the right ones appear appear sclerotic but patent. Anybody have any idea what that means? I emailed this replacement doc back but haven't heard from her yet. I looked it up online and get mixed answers.
Anyway, please post if you have any clue what this means.

I have no idea what the doc is talking about as far as sclerotic joints. Sorry.

Xrays taken 9/15/16.
Doc said: I am PLEASED with your test results. I reviewed your X rays images as well as our radiologist. Your X rays are essentially NORMAL for your low spine (just minimal scoliosis and minimal degenerative "wear & tear" changes and NORMAL for your hips and pelvis overall for 50 y.o. Have a good weekend!
Xray Doc: Findings:
Mild convex left scoliosis. Disk spaces appear fairly well
maintained without significant degenerative changes. SI
joint spaces are patent.

My conclusion is that since we have MS, it is considered "normal" for this and to be in pain. I know when I injured my low back in a car accident in 1997; I found acupuncture helpful in 2001. It is costly, but did help. This was before being diagnosed with MS. I hope this is helpful to know you're not alone. Nan

The SI joint is the Sacroiliac joint. It's where the sacrum, or lower part of the spine joins with the pelvis.

Patent is a term often used to describe a vein or artery that is in an open and flowing state.
Putting the two together leads to an interpretation that the sacroiliac joint is not compressed and is showing a normal amount of cartilage present.
