CRABs vs. Integrin Antagonists

There have been several disparaging and potentially libelous statements made against and about me lately, so I wanted to take a moment to clarify something - for the record, and to attempt to repair my potentially damaged reputation. Remember, I am NOT anonymous on this website.

None of the CRABs are classified as any type of "integrin antagonist" nor do their mechanism of action(s) involve totally blocking any of the integrins.

Antegren is an integrin antagonist and works solely by blocking and manipulating certain integrins.

In my opinion (but not upon my advice or recommendation at all), due to the above factors, and only if desired, a person may want to consider only performing comparisons between agents that are of similar properties and actions. (I am not talking comparing efficacy here, though. That is a totally different scenario.) Therefore, comparisons between drug agents, logically it would appear, should be performed between "like" agents, not unlike ones. Apples to apples, oranges to oranges.

There have been other integrin antagonists on the market that you can look into and make the appropriate relationship comparisons between that agent and an agent such as Antegren. The same thing can be performed with the CRABs........compare any of the CRABs between each other. The only CRAB which has a slightly different mechanism of action than the interferons is Copaxone. But their basic classification are the same. Antegren is of a different class altogether (as Biogen describes).

If you then research integrins and their actions on bodily functions, etc., you will become familiar with what they do, and what is known and/or hypothesized right now about what happens or likely may happen if they are not allowed to perform their individual functions properly under various types of circumstances, etc. I BELIEVE you will find that the integrins are highly complex and not much can be ascertained for "certain". If you look up how much research has been done into what "blocking" the integrins or what manipulation of the integrins may result in, you may find some interesting correlations, and also may find that not much research has been performed into it at all.

After having done all of the above research, you may (or may not) have some questions.

Hence, some of you MIGHT (and I only say MIGHT) find yourself alongside me with those questions. And possibly (I say possibly) may find yourself asking if more research shouldn't be done, (the same as I am asking)?

But, I will say right now, and respectfully want to make it extremely clear that my "intent" for ever having discussed any of the above in the first place, initially was strictly to see how much could be found out about a drug simply by its known properties (since not much was being released via press releases), and then it migrated into personal chagrin over what I did find. Therefore, the intent migrated from simple curiosity, to concern, to my personal expression of my feelings of "caution". But THAT is all. There is absolutely no intent on my part of ever attempting to provoke emotion or incite or inflame anyone.

My life, values, and goals revolve around protection of people (i.e. law, labor movement, etc.) and certain types of activism associated with that. Therefore, my intent is never an attempt to incite fear, extreme emotion, or any other negative connotation, nor do I practice any type of hidden agenda "manipulation". I simply do not condone such practice.

Any concerns I have expressed of late, evolved out of the "surprise" correlations I found. But that does not mean I am making any statements of "fact"..........only that I personally ended up with several unanswered questions that cause me some "concern". That's all. I posted those concerns with the hope that someone might know or had found something that could "allay" those specific concerns (such as research regarding integrins that I hadn't located that showed a different perspective, comments from another professional regarding the manipulation of integrins and subsequent possible adverse effects, etc.)

Instead, I received blatant accusations as to my motives and disparaging remarks and possible damage to my hard-earned reputation in research, etc., which as I mentioned before can cause such damage as I am NOT an anonymous poster on this website. Many of my friends, professional and medical associates, politicians, etc. know me and know I post here. Not to mention the fact that I have been totally honest on this website myself as to who I am, where I work, etc.

I just wanted everyone to know that never in a million years would I ever attempt to inflict harm of any kind on anyone, in any manner whatsoever.

Thank you for your time, folks. I apologize if anything has upset anyone, but that was never my intent. If you will recall, my habit is literally posting AS I locate items of interest for the first time.
