moving

We are moving house at the end of this month as I can no longer cope where we are - we live in a 4th floor flat and I have to climb 4-5 (depending on the entrance) flights of stairs to get to my own front door. It just exhausts me and is dangerous. We have found a nice little place just down the road form here to go to. It is going to cost a little more though.

Sin my relapse on 08-08 I have gotten much better - the skin numbness is (mostly) receding, my legs are less weak (but still not fab). I am still in the grips of an MS hug that's been around a few weeks now and my hands have started going numb!

The local MS nurses are running a course called 'getting to grips with MS' that I am going on later this month. I'm hoping to pick up some helpful info.

This is just great for you! It should make a big difference in your fatigue from climbing stairs. I am glad you found something because there are not a lot of places in England without stairs.

Good luck with the move Mrs George. Gwa is right - it will really help your fatigue. We have also been looking at moving but we can't quite afford it - perhaps next year. I would also love a bungalow, stairs are such an extra drain on a small reserve that you could do without.
Best of luck with the course, and hope the "hug" goes soon.

is not a bungalow - is a small house but with only one small flight of stairs - a LOT less than I have to face now!

I'm just wondering how I'll get the energy to pack, move & unpack!

I would have been hard pressed to go up 4 flights of stairs even before I was sick, so you must be a miracle woman to tackle such a task. The smaller staircase will help you tremendously. At least your husband can just drag you up them if you can't make it!

You need to transform into a supervisor and tell others how to pack, move and unpack!

no transformation needed gwa - I'm nothing if not a bossy cow! I am offering cake and pimms as a bribe - pizza is a good thought though!

I will probably have to pack everything but I can do that sitting on my bum!

OMG 3 weeks until I am free of those evil stairs!

What are pimms, Mrs George?

seriously? You guys are utterly and totally deprived!

Pimms is a drink - nicely alcoholic that you mix with lemonade, fresh strawberries & mint. It is lush! And very English!

Im with you on that MrsGeorge!
It bucketed rain all day today in Dublin but a nice cool glass of Pimms would have gone down a treat. Must remind myself to buy a bottle sometime for summer memories.
