Attack!

Am I the only one that is affected by the cooler weather in relation to it bringing on an "attack"? If I am in air conditioning too long, or if the weather changes to a cool, or rainy day, I will almost always begin to feel my symptoms appear. I know everybody has different symptoms, but I've only heard about adverse heat reactions, and not cold. Guess I'm "special."

I don't have an "attack", but the cold makes me "stiff" which makes it more difficult to control movements, thereby increasing my symptoms such as ataxia. As soon as I warm up, I go back to "normal". And heat does not increase my symptoms. I'm special too.

For me, cool is good. Rain/humidity knocks me on my butt.

Fab,

I, like most MS'ers apparently, have fewer symptom when the weather is cool. But I do know one person other than you that can't take the cold and prefers heat. He is a member of my local NMSS chapter support group. To give you an idea of how much he prefers heat to cold, he went to Indonesia for vacation and covered with a blanket while setting outside - I went to Alaska and felt better than I have in almost two years.

You may be in the minority of a minority, but you aren't alone.
