I finally got home Saturday night after 3 weeks away for training with the new job assignment. i am so glad to be home. I did not get to check the forum but a couple of times. I missed you guys so much.

My husband came to Raleigh and stayed with me for a week in the middle of my training and that helps the time go by much faster. My baby kitty Amber doubled in size while I was gone.

I had to keep going even though I felt bad some days. I had one really bad day. Really bad. I tried to hide it but it was very obvious to the two other ladies that shared the rental car with me. I was the driver (I wonder how they knew I was a control freak and had to be the driver) and got very close to those 2 ladies and I told them what was going on with me. They were very understanding and I have made 2 friends for life.

Anyway, I am glad to be back home!

Sometimes it's easier to open up to people you've only just met: if they react badly you don't risk losing anything, and your new friendships can start off from a position of openness and honesty. Old friends can be harder for lots of reasons: they have to change their perception of someone they thought they knew; if it's been a while since your diagnosis they can be a bit miffed you didn't tell them sooner, and all the previous dynamics of the relationship get put through the blender. The saying, " it's at times like this you find out who your real friends are", is so true.

I'm glad you got through your trip and made some new buddies along the way,
