I have not been here in a bit. Sorry for being out of touch.

MS is stable for now. Im not on any meds for MS.

I have been battling a bad gallbladder for awhile now and I lost the battle

I have surgery Monday a.m.

How many have had their's out?? Any advice..

Im a Nurse and have been through hell with MS but Im scared to death of the O.R. silly as that sounds.

Thanks to all. Hope to hear from you soon

tt89,

I had mine out in Oct of 1998. Put it off for several years and like you say, lost the battle. It was not bad and I made it fine except I tried to go back to work way too soon. So you better take plenty of time to recover.

Please keep us informed.

Yep I have alot of time off for it
It's the Laproscopic version. Same day surgery

Did you all feel better afterwards?

Yes, I felt so much better. No more attacks, at lease for the gallbladder anyway. I still have to take omeprazole since I also have a hiatal hernia.

You will feel better too!

My neighbor had hers out 2 weeks ago. She said the pain from the gallbladder was 5 times worse than any surgery could have been. You'll be glad your done with it Thurs.

i had my gallbladder taken out laparoscopically in August 2007
my only advice... LOTS of pillows to sleep on the first night (not so much pain, just uncomfortable.)

Also, the pain meds will help with the discomfort... i was back to work within a week..

I won't say good luck since surgery isn't about luck... so i'll say break a leg! instead :P

Its midnight here and I can't even sleep. Gotta be at the hospital early am and surgery is at 1030 EST.

I wish I was not so terrified of surgery. Big baby I know but I'm a Nurse and we are the worst Im sure.

Thank you all of you for helping me get through tonight!

Hello Again
Surgery was Monday. Gallbladder out and I'm home recovering. Except for being sore I'm doing great. Everyone around me said they can't even tell I had surgery. I'm resting alot and not pushing my luck. I see the surgeon next Monday for a F/U appt but so far Im doing great. I feel soooooooo much better.
He said if I would have had another attack, it would have probably ruptured. I had one stone ( among many) the size of a walnut!!!!

Thanks for all the support and encourgament. I had the best Nurses, Medics and Surgeon!!! They erased all my fears!

I consider myself so fortunate. Surgery was at 1030 am but I went 1/2 hour early and I was discharged from the hospital by 1430 in the afternoon!!!! EXCELLENT. I slept the first day/night away. Doing better today, still sore but taking it slow.

Again. Thanks to everyone for your help!!!!
