Hi all,
I am wondering how many of you out there have had the usually touchy feely tests done by nuros and specialists and come back clear. This may seem like a strange question but i have had a few of these tests done over the last few years and each time they say there is nothing abnormal with my senses and reflexes. Therefore i seem to keep getting told there is nothing medically wrong with me even though i am showing some very outward signs as well as the usual fatigue, aches, pains and numbness. The point i am trying to make is how important are these reflex type tests and is it still possible to have MS.

Hi.

Reflexes are usually normal when there is no spinal cord involvement. This doesn't mean that you have or you don't have MS.

Hi scotty, I too was told my senses were normal. The tests of those that were done at the Neuro, balance and touching the skin with pin etc.
OMG, then why do I have problems with touch and not being able to feel things properly? I don't know and I am still angry that they have not put me in with a new Neuro, I do not want to see the same one I saw scotty at the RBH.

I think neuros have limited capabilities in deciding normal/abnormal. I have tingling in my left arm and even though the arm and hand aren't numb (I can feel the sharp/dull pinpricks but there's a layer under my skin that when I touch things they feel like sandpaper no matter how smooth they are. On the surface I can tell they're smooth so the neuros say I'm normal there.
