back in the 1990s, mom read an article in the San Jose mercury news paper about scitzophrenia and ms being genetically linked. I cant find anything on the internet about it. but I did find it linked with in the same individual. I ask because I am a possible ms, my sister, father, his sister, and his maternal aunt have scizophrenia and his maternal uncle has ms. anyone?

I have wondered about this, because my husband's mother is schizophrenic and he has MS. I am very much believing the CCSVI "theory", so am wondering now if that might cause schiz. but obviously they have found genetic links to that now, so maybe her schiz, and chain smoking caused my husband to have a deformed jugular...his left jug is not visible on a doppler. I would have him in Stanford in a flash if we had USA health insurance, but we don't so have to wait.....(the stress of a schiz relative could exacerbate your ccsvi problem, that's another possibility).

I have my second mri on monday so that answer will be around soon enough. really I just find it interesting. my mom read the article long before ms was a topic in my life. I saw some article on line that said there is an epidemiological overlap with MS, schizophrenia and lyme but I think they were aiming at environmental not genetic.
