Hey! Next week im making the move from Oklahoma to Chicago and was looking for a new MS doctor and eye doctor and was wondering if anyone here had anyone they could recommend?

Im on copaxone ( im 22 and have had MS since i was 20) and im transferring with the same company i work for here so im set with insurance and everything. Im just needing a MS doctor ( well and a regular doctor too if anyone has any recommendations) and a eye doctor!

And any other advice anyone in chicago with MS has i'd love to hear!

Mckenzii, let us know what part of Chicago you are moving to and it might make it easier to suggest a place to start.

I had a consult w/ Stefoski he is very nice. Rush memorial hosp has an MS Center and I believe they are conducting a couple of clinical trials.

Rush is in the downtown area of Chgo and can be difficult or tiring getting there.

Chicagoland is a BIG area. I used to live there...Scooby has good advice. Good luck Oklahoma to Chigo is a big leap. It a great city especially for folks your age.

oh whoops, i'll be in the logan square area of chicago and i'll be working in the north loop area

i wont have a car so i'll be depending on the CTA so if somethings close to public transportation and in the city thats even better.

i currently go to dr.pardo and he's in a MS center in Mercy...sounds kind of like the Rush doctor i'll have to check him out

Rush should be your best bet.

Dr. Stefoski is my neuro and I can't say enough good things about him. He is truly amazing! He never rushes his patients, answers all questions and treats you with great respect. He is also brilliant! A couple important things - he takes new patients without issue but he is so popular it takes 7 months to get a regular appointment with him. Emergencies are different of course. Also, because he never rushes a patient and you receive his full attention, he tends to run very late to schedule. All his patients know it and are more than happy to wait for him.

The entire office staff is also amazing.

The Rush MS Center is supposed to be cutting edge with great doctors. Northwestern might also be a good choice for you. It's close to the Loop. The neuros there are also supposed to be excellent. I'm just outside of the city in the southwest burbs and I've never been to either but I'm sure there are others that will have more info. Good luck and welcome. Logan Square is a very hip, up-and-coming area. (did that make me sound old?? )

Given how much I dislike toll roads, I hate to say this. But you're probably right in paying the fine, Bob.

A few years ago, I went back to my college alma mater to do interviews for a company where I was working. I got a $10 parking ticket on the university lot. I blew it off. Before I knew it , I got a notice in the mail stating that a warrant had been issued for my arrest in the state of Pennsylvania. It seems the school had turned the ticket over to the local township police. I ignored their warnings and late fees, and that was the result. In the end, I paid the new hefty fee, since I regularly visit relatives in PA, and didn't want to risk getting pulled over.

I used to have the fast lane electronic I PASS charged regular toll passes w/o out having to have the change

Bob, Bob, Bob-take my advice and pay the fines. My brother went through 3 last year and now owes them $800.00 because he put off paying the fines. Chicago tolls are the biggest scam around. They were only supposed to be used to pay for some road repairs many years ago and fast forward to the present we have horrible roads and they are still there!! Take it from me country boy-Don't mess with the long arm of Chicago law...

I think it's great that you want to use your wife as a symbol of injustice and I'm sure she appreciates it too. Unfortunately I think chain gangs were replaced by telemarketing a long time ago. From what I hear prison is like a resort nowadays, you just can't leave. Kind of like a forced vacation with cable, a gym, prepared meals. Heck, she could even get a degree or two. Now that I think about it, maybe I should look into it
