Are there any other veterans here? I have just learned that my MS is considered service-connected.

Veteran here! Plus my very first post :) I retired from the Air Force in 06 after 23 years. I was just diagnosed about 1 month ago. I had symptoms while in, but you know some military docs :)

I have sent in my documents and am awaiting word. I am already 80% with the VA with other issues that my Neurologist thinks pretty much are symptoms of MS.
I would be glad to chat with another Veteran as we have some unique issues of our own!

Why would it be service-related?

There are certain diseases the VA deems as automatically service connected, MS being one of them. There are some who theorize all of the shots and immunizations you take can trigger MS, but no one knows for sure.

There is a 7 year window after you leave the service, but, don't quote me on this part, I believe if you are past that window and can show proof of symptoms they MAY work with you

Scott,
You and others may like to read this thread, which discussed subjects of interest to veterans some time ago:
