Just need some reassurance....

Hi everyone! I'm newly diagnosed....so bear with me...1st clinical attack was over this past summer, and I'm not sure if what's happening is normal or not. (nothing about this is normal, right? ) I seem to have days where I feel damn near disease-free, or not too bad symptom wise (my chief complaint is weak/'buzzing' calves/legs, short term memory is in the toilet), and then other days I feel all MS-y and I can't ignore it--Like I might crumple up on the floor in the grocery checkout line. There is no rhyme or reason to this. Yet regardless of how much up in my grill the MS is, I'm able to walk/jog uphill for 2 miles a day and strength train! I have RRMS, so I guess I just don't understand why I feel these ups and downs with my symptoms. Is that just how it goes?? I'm confused and frustrated. Thanks for listening to my rant. Any thoughts or advice would be soooooo appreciated.
Thanks,
Carrie

hi carrie, it's tough when it's all new. there are a few strategies you can use, and the best starting point is learning - you're here which is a great first step. if you want ideas on how to use nutrition to make sure you stay on an even keel, i'm your gal. also you may be fortunate to be in buffalo - have you read any of the CCSVI info yet?

Carrie--Many people have reported improvement in MS symptoms by following specific diets, especially low carb diet. Could you keep a journal or diary of your diet and symptoms? Maybe you would notice a correlation of certain foods with your MS symptoms.

Still walking!

I was diagnosed 13 years ago but had an attack 10 years ago that took me a year and a half to fully recover from. I was able to regain my mobility and walk again. I even do yoga and kickboxing!

While I was recovering, I vowed to change my life. I adopted a healthy lifestyle and diet along with a strong will to overcome this disease. I decided that when I regained my ability to walk again, I was going to spend every day living my life to the fullest. Ten years ago, my life changed forever, and for the better.
