Marinol for Spasticity

Went to neurologist today to get botox shots in my legs but we decided against it as the last time he administered some I wasn't sure if it helped at all, and may have even had a deleterious effect. So being that I'm already on Baclofen and Tinzanidine (at night) as well as 4AP, he suggested we give Marinol a try to boot. Skeptical if it will do much as true marijuana does not, but I'm curious if any of you have tried it? Or do you have any other stiffness solutions other that stretching?

Thank You,
Seeker

Frankly, go for the real thing. God/Gaia/Whatever has a pharmacy far superior to inNova-Pharmacorp, or whatever. The real thing also has documented anti-depressive, and neuro-regenerative (in the medulla) properties. (sorry, you will have to Google them thar ideas) A clean sativa strain is also very uplifting, quells nausea, stimulates appetite, and has multitudinous other of benefits. I have heard of some very "dopey" effects from Marinol.

i use magnesium against spasticity.

epsom salts bath following instructions carefully so as not to overdo, otherwise try at least 250mg mag citrate (because it's the most soluble form) daily, taken away from any vit d3/mineral combo you might already be taking. watch out if you get up over 500mg mag citrate per day - even though it's the most soluble supplement form, it can still give you the runs.

if you want to go the food route for best lower intestine absorption, eat at least one serving of dark leafy greens like kale and chard every day. you can research other good food sources of magnesium, i think certain fish are good also.

magnesium use has been documented in medical literature, against tetanus

it's best to make sure your mineral intake is properly balanced. the mainstream supplement recommendations out there are 1000mg calcium to 500mg magnesium.

one more option!

I wouldn't personally take it unless there was an absolute reason I couldn't use real weed. I agree with Johnson. marinol is impossible to dose correctly. It takes too long to take effect. With real marijuana if you want more effect, you take a little more and you have instant feedback. I've heard of people taking marinol and then thinking they need a little more after 15 minutes or so and taking another and getting too much and getting super sick. I did take one once and it literally did nothing. Could be that I smoke real MJ and just needed more, but I'll never know. So I don't speak from personal experience (just that I took the one and it may as well have been a baby aspirin) about the adverse effects, but I've heard it from more than one place.

My wife eats brownies.....

Her nuero told her not to bother with the pharma products as the active ingredient (THC) is altered and therefore not as effective as the real stuff,
but it's a personal choice (as it's not legal here)......
