You are a really laugh a minute!

You know as well as the rest of us here that you are merely trying to spread fear, uncertainty and dread around Tysabri. It isn't working.

You also know, or should know (Lauren posted the AER above,) that the consumer (in the case of the Belgian patient) cited Remicade as primary cause of death.

Thanks for the invite to Ontario. Would you like to come down to Mexico City to show me your emails? Will expect you this weekend.

While you are certainly entitled to your opinion, that's all I can say about that comment is that it's a total bunch of crap!! My opinions in this thread on Tysabri are not about the drug itself but about the way Biogen has handled it from day one. You have no idea what has gone on in the background in the case of the Crohn's patient and it has only supported my opinion of how they do business.
You also know, or should know (Lauren posted the AER above,) that the consumer (in the case of the Belgian patient) cited Remicade as primary cause of death.
If you want to believe that, go right ahead but I've been told something very, very different and I'll choose to believe that information as to what Biogen is telling the public. If you think that a company like Biogen isn't capable of that, think again. Today on the news, it was stated that the makers of Prozac and Paxil, had previously published trial reports stating that there was a 94% favorable result of their trials. When someone bothered to really check all the trial information, the favorable result dropped to 51%!! So much for trusting big pharma when it comes to info on their cash cow drugs. And BTW, that report was published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
Thanks for the invite to Ontario. Would you like to come down to Mexico City to show me your emails? Will expect you this weekend.
Don't wait up too late! I know the e-mails exist and what they say. You are the one who doesn't believe they are legitimate. Biogen just loves people like yourself.

This page has a video of Biogen's explanation of how it works.

Thank you for the video. I find that part of this thread really helpful...

We aren't talking about prozac or paxil Harry. We are talking about Tysabri. The AER database, the one maintained by law by the FDA, has the consumer-filed report and that is not up for debate: remicade was called out as the culprit. No company filed that report, the consumer did. Not the doctor, but the consumer.

Regardless of your claims here, I do not believe anything you say regarding the Crohn's patient: you are vehemently anti-Tysabri to the point of mania. There are well over 22,000 patients on Tysabri with no deaths and no PML. In fact, by mid-year a PML case would only bring Tysabri patients up to the national average. But it won't happen because TOUCH is preventing immune compromised patients from receiving Tysabri and because MS patients are naturally immunized against PML (unlike the 2 non-MS patients who were improperly diagnosed and dosed with Tysabri during trials.)

The NEJM by the way also wrote that it is safer to take Tysabri than not to take Tysabri. Interesting, huh?

The reason I mentioned Prozac and Paxil was not to compare it in any way to Tysabri or any other drug but to point out that drug companies do not always give us the real picture when it comes to their cash cow drugs. They often conveniently leave out the "other" side of the information that they don't want the public to know about. And how do you think the information from the Crohn's patient's family got delivered to the FDA?

Like I said earlier, I don't care whether you believe me or not because I know what I was told versus what was made public. I'm simply pointing out to the readers that there is another side to the Crohn's patient's information.

And again, you continue to mislead people in this thread by stating that I am vehemently anti-Tysabri despite me telling you several times that my beef is with Biogen and how they handled Tysabri from the beginning. I am not anti-Tysabri because it is simply a drug like any other drug. But for whatever reason, you are having a difficult time trying to understand that!

MS patients naturally immunized against PML...now that's a new one!!! They don't even know what causes MS and yet you say they are immunized against PML. Hmmm!
The NEJM by the way also wrote that it is safer to take Tysabri than not to take Tysabri. Interesting, huh?
Again you simply are missing my point. It's not about Tysabri, it's about Biogen. And BTW, didn't the NEJM also state that Vioxx was OK to take before the real truth hit the fan? The NEJM has to rely on the information that is provided to them and what they are able to determine after studying it. If the original information isn't exactly truthful, then I guess you end up with a bit of a problem down the line.
