Please refer to where I tell people to "run for the hills" or to "not get this procedure". I certainly hope that I have encouraged people to think about their decision before getting a procedure that has not yet been proven. Recently I posted some research articles that I thought were important which Sou thought were bunk. Guess what. IT WAS OK. CCSVI is a theory not a religion people. CCSVI IS THE ONLY THEORY ON THIS BOARD THAT MAY NOT BE QUESTIONED ! I will say if I want to tell people to run for the hills or stay away from this procedure I will because this is an OPEN FORUM. Only time and scientific scrutiny will tell if CCSVI is for real or not. Getting upset with people who have doubts and questions only make it look more tenuous.

And what a logical expansion of your longstanding conspiracy theory Harry.

Well, hop on the bandwagon, always room for more!! We won't worry about facts until we've completely shredded and hounded the bastards of organized medicine for their wanton forward motion despite their lack of.....facts.

Oh well, the current dearth of fact is different because we're enjoying the bandwagon ride!
Hey Bob...what's with the big font...trying to impress??!!

What conspiracy? It's no secret that big pharma and old school medical thinking have provided billions of dollars in long term use medications that have done little to nothing for MS patients. Just read the many comments by MS docs who have said many times that the CRAB drugs have not done what the drug companies said they would do. No brainer there.

If you check any of my many messages I've made on this forum, you will find very little comment by me on CCSVI. It shows promise and it will take a lot more research but one can't turn a blind eye to the very positive results that Dr. Zamboni has had with all 118 of his patients. I hope for the sake of MS patients world wide that this turns into something very good.

But I can also assure you that you won't see big pharma funding any studies with CCSVI. There's no money to be made on a surgical procedure so it won't happen. Nothing sinister in my comment, it's a simple fact.....big pharma is in the business to make big money and not support something that won't lead them in that direction.

But I have seen many times what happens when something that may have potential for treating MS comes along and it can't be patentable. And if I have to explain that further...sigh!

C'mon man, just cause I'm not quoting you verbatim you know what I'm talking about. You had put a post in general discussion some time ago basically 'warning' people to not take it seriously or do it or something like that until it was all proven. I believe you might have even taken it down, but you and I both know what I was talking about.

Oops, hit send too quick. What I wanted to say was we would never discover anything if people didn't take risks.

Maybe I was wr......wro.......I might've been less than correct but I got the distinct impression that I could see a light bulb over that aged noggin of yours and that you had a foot on the step and a hand on the handrail of that CCSVI hay wagon.
Nothing could be further from the opinion I have on CCSVI. I haven't jumped on a hay wagon, band wagon or any wagon for that matter. I find Zamboni's work thorough and scientific and his early data suggests a treatment that is on the opposite side of the planet than what we are used to seeing.
What more fitting addition to your anti-big pharma stance than cuddling up to the "no possible profit" CCSVI faction.
I don't have a "stance" on big pharma per se. What I say about big pharma is that they are a big business whose main goal is to make as much money as they can. That's why they are in business. They aren't there to look after the health of the nation but make no mistake, if something else like CCSVI comes along that could possibly threaten their huge profits, they won't stand idly by. Let's just say they won't turn their cheek the other way!
I hope I can convince you to believe that I'm ashamed of myself for my assumptions.
Everyone has assumptions and when you can only read what a person writes as opposed to speaking with them in person, it is very difficult if not impossible to understand exactly what a person means. This case is no exception.

I guess I can only try and reiterate my opinion about CCSVI. I think Zamboni has come across something that explains why other previous alternative treatments for MS have had some success. The big question here is whether the narrowing of the jugular vein is a possible cause of MS or whether it is a result of some other mechanism. The surgical results of his 118 patients are quite astounding at this point and certainly deserve a lot more research. But that research is NOT going to come from big pharma because they are a business and there is no profit incentive for them in CCSVI. No conspiracy, just plain, simple business practice.

I absolutely agree that further research is needed and will be very interesting.
Having both of us agreeing on this aspect, this is encouraging to read.
