A few days after the last infusion

It's been 4 days since the last campath infusion and I am sitting at home taking it easy. The weekend was kind of lousy since I felt like I had no energy. After the last infusion I felt fine but my energy levels quickly went downhill from there. A bunch of my old symptoms came back as well and it was hard to even walk upstairs at home. Needless to say I wasn't real happy with that. I ate dinner Saturday night at a friends house with my family but other than that I have been hanging out at home.Things seem to be going a bit better right now and I hope they continue to improve from here.

We all hope they improve but don't worry about feeling a little wiped out at the moment.

Remember your body has just suffered a major assault. Whilst there are no external signs, wiping out your immune system is a big deal. In addition you are coming down from the steroids dose which can also leave you feeling a little run down for a few days.

Stick with it, relax, and hopefully look forward to a future where the beast is tamed.

Regards

Thanks Raven. I am feeling better as time passes thats for sure. Ian has been a great help for me in making my decision with all of his words of encouragement. It's nice to be able to read about others on this forum that have experienced some of the same things as I have. I feel fortunate to be diagnosed at such an early stage before any real disability has happened. My doctor told be about the campath trial she was part of and encouraged me to really consider it. I was newly diagnosed and had not used any of the other drugs for MS. So, being in pretty good shape and feeling I had my whole life ahead of me it was kinda hard to accept wiping out my system for the "good' of my future. I have always gravitated toward attacking things head on so we decided to go foward. So here i am at home recovering from the infusions (and meeting some new people on this great site) and looking forward to a bright future.

Haha

Cosy up to Ian and you might get a House of Commons box of choccies..

Although despite the fact that he came to my wedding I still haven't received one (hint hint...)

Seriously though, I believe you've done the right thing. Go at this thing as hard as you can as early as you can.

Robin,
That's the plan. Hard and heavy for as long as I can. Relax at home for a few weeks and then get back out and enjoy the rest of summer.

Brilliant stuff.

I hope this is everything you hope it is.

You certainly seem like the perfect candidate.
