Hey everyone,
I start my second round of campath tomorrow. I can't believe it has been a year already. Only three days this time. I hope everyone is doing well. I am anticipating an uneventful few days of sitting in the office with an IV in my hand/arm. I will post anything of importance over the next couple of days.

Everyone,
So much for a walk in the park. Things didn't go as well as planned. Started with the 1000 mg steroids. After that the campath started. Two hours in I got violent chills that racked my body. This lasted about 30 minutes then subsided. After the 4 hours of campath finished I felt really sick to my stomach. Fever spiked to 102.8 and my heart rate jumped from 70 resting to 135. My doc sent me to the ER and I am being admitted for observation overnight. Doc thinks its a reaction to the campath. I will update when I know more.

The infusion is off for tomorrow. My doc is speaking with Genzyme to see what the next course of action is.

My doctor is calling the director of the CAMMS323 study this morning to apply for an infusion protocol deviation. She wants to continue with the final two doses early next week to fulfill the round two directive. She wants to do the IV steroid push over a bit longer time than just an hour and then push the campath over approximately 6 - 7 hours instead of the customary 4 hour peripod. I am all for it. Say a prayer that all works out concerning the protocol deviation. Take care everyone.

Man Fred, it sounds like you're really having a rough go of it. But it sounds like your doc is on top of things. I hope things get better for you with the infusions.

I just talked to my doctor and I am getting discharged from the hospital. She spoke to Genzyme and other doctors involved in the study and the infusion #2 and #3 are a go. She wants to do it on monday and Tuesday but I am not sure I will be able to due to work commitments. If those days don't work out it will happen the week of August 10.
