Hi all,

I have just joined the forum. I wanted to share my story, get some advice.

I am Abdul Kadhar 29 years old from Cairo, Egypt.

I got married 3 years before and i have 1 year old baby. I am working in pubic sector and i am staying with my wife and son in south Cairo.

my wife affected with MS they are diagnosed 5 years before. but they didn't inform to me and hidden the medical reports also. after my marriage life i am facing lot of problem in my wife side. now she was suffered with Blurred vision, eye pain, loss of colour vision, blindness,Muscle weakness,Urinary urgency and incontinence, mental depression etc. now she is partially recovered from that situation. sometimes she tried suicid without any reason. and she is not mingle with our family members and friends. So now i am facing lot of problems from my wife and i cant concentrate my works,son and my fathers, mothers.

But her family hidden the truth and taking the treatment. but now i understanding her problem (MS) myself and asking about to her family. but they are hidden strongly again and again.

in that truth less life, how to lead my life and how to protect my son and family without affecting this situation?

Welcome to ThisIsMS, Abdul. You have an unfortunate situation; obviously, you cannot rely on your wife's family for information; you must educate yourself on MS. I urge you to visit a library or bookstore and find all the books on MS that you can and begin reading, reading, reading. The "Reading Nook" forum on this website can suggest many titles – my personal favorite is Multiple Sclerosis: The History of a Disease by T Jock Murray (It was written in English; I do not know if it has been translated into your first language.)

On this website you will find many opinions on the cause and best treatment for this disease. This disease is still a mystery; there is no absolutely right answer yet! We members of ThisIs MS share our ideas and try to encourage each other. We come from many different countries and cultures; you will have to choose those ideas that fit for your situation; my suggestions may not be comfortable for you and your wife.

If it is possible for you in Egypt, I encourage you to accept your wife's difficulty as yours too – the two of you are a team working together against MS. I hope you can find sympathetic medical doctors to add to your team. I think the answers to MS will be found soon.

In the meantime, many people have found a no-carb diet and exercise to be helpful. The story of Dr. Terry Wahls (http://www.TerryWahls.org) is especially dramatic.
