Nice trick, having your say and locking the thread. Maybe I'll become a moderator so that I can abuse the system.
NHE wrote:Cute. Your claim was that HappyPoet knew of Malden's account closure before it happened. Now you've changed the subject.
With your statement comes the responsibility to point out to all of us exactly what you are referring to because I've looked and don't see it.
Please point out where I said or even strongly hinted that HappyPoet "knew of Malden's account closure before it happened".

That said, it's beyond question that she knew about it before I did and that I observed that she felt it necessary to flaunt that with a PM to me. I don't care, I'm not making a complaint about HP's behavior and was just making observations.

Consider this post your warning.

Is it within my rights to ask what my "behavior" was so that I can change it in the future?

So wait, let me get this straight. If a poster doesn't want to hear your reasoning, instead of just not reading, they can simply PM the admin and have the entire post deleted to make sure no one else can read or think about the ideas?

Just to clarify any confusion, it takes 5 complaints from established members, then a warning will be issued. If the behavior that elicited the complaints does not change, then it is at the descretion of the moderators and admin to close the account. Note that it is also at the discretion of the moderators and admin to distinguish valid complaints from others.

one example would be re-starting a locked thread having copied and pasted the content.

Lyon,

Re our posts, I can't remember the context/details, but I predicted that a post of yours would be deleted under the new moderation policy. And by me commenting on it (and maybe even quoting it), I knew my post would have to be deleted, too. You know this is how it works here. There's no mystery/conspiracy.

Besides, I was way wrong -- my remark was only about the posts. Heck, I didn't even get a chance to read everything in the thread (long posts are hard for me to read in one sitting). We don't know why the thread was deleted. Maybe there were posts we didn't get a chance to see that came after our posts; maybe those posts were the reason the thread was deleted.

Re Malden, when I saw him listed as 'guest,' I sent you a PM. Simple. For all I had known, you already knew because you spend more time here at TIMS than I do. I've had plenty of public and private disagreements with TIMS' moderation that I surely would not be consulted about something as serious as banishment, no more than you would be.

Re copying PMs - no one believes them when they're used/copied because everyone knows that not only can they be edited, they can be completely manufactured.

Btw, more of my predictions are wrong than they are right -- there's a post of mine in a thread high on page one right now in which I complain about a member using name-calling. In fact, one of the moderators, NHE, I think, posted right after me without doing anything about my complaint.

None of us get special treatment. We win some, we lose some.
