Welcome Sladja. I can only imagine that watching your mom become sicker has been very very hard on you. That in conjunction with moving so far away from her. I feel for you. Keep looking and posting. We want to be here for you. I am very sorry but I am not able to help you with this lift thing that you are talking about. Keep yourself well-informed about devices and treatments as well. Try and keep your self mentally and emotionally healthy. I trust that you are looking into everything and keeping your self well informed.
The best I can do for you right now is to welcome you.

sladja--Many people have read this thread and not responded – we sympathize with your mother's situation, but don't have a good answer for you. You mentioned that your mother is in Europe and you are in Canada; it must be almost impossible to handle such a problem long-distance. Would it be more possible to find a solution in the country where your mother resides? Is there a branch of the MS Society there which might offer equipment for free or for rent? Are there charitable organizations which might help you find the right equipment? Hospitals? Government agencies? Churches? Does your mother have a neighbor or friend who can act as her advocate in your place?

We can offer ideas, but we do not have the physical solution. We understand your feeling of helplessness very well.
