Hi I was diagnosed in '08 with rrms and am still on my feet with the help of a cane!woohoo! But what happened recently gave me incentive to come here for understanding and support!
I was consulting with an old friend(for 25yrs) about the effect the symptoms of my disease was having on me over the past few months.. emotions(crying for no reason at the drop of a hat) my balance that Im still bitter about losing, the sexual thing that you all know about, I was hoping for a little help mentally to combat my emotions(moral support)
What I got instead was this.."Im tired of this #@#* you are lucky you have what you have, my unemployment ran out last month and there is no work!.. That was a couple weeks ago but Im still stunned! peppy

welcome, peppy, sorry about your experience.
it is not new that people are distracted by whatever difficulty is right in their face. those issues are more pressing to them, and they cannot even fathom your circumstances.
don't let that get you down. there are people here who understand your situation and will extend their warm hearts to you in support of your struggle.
read a bit. there is plenty of information to be learned here.
an ad says, "you don't get ms until you get ms." i think that is true.
think of it this way: you are in a very elite club. we welcome you.
peace to you,
elyse :)
