Diagnosed Today

After winding up in the hospital for four days the first week of February with optic neuritis, I was diagnosed with RRMS today. My brain MRI was clear but I have 2 lesions on my spine. My neurologist was just waiting for my spinal fluid to come back from the Mayo Clinic and it came back with all of the markers for MS.
I can't say I'm shocked at the diagnosis because when I was discharged from the hospital, it looked like they were leaning toward MS. It also explains some things that have been happening with my body over the past few years. I'm really thankful to the opthamologist who sent me to Duke University Hospital right away to see neuro opthamologist. It seems from a number of the posts on there that a lot of people aren't able to get such a quick diagnosis, or even get in to see a neurologist that quickly. It's been only 5 weeks and the vision in my right eye is back to about 100% already. The doc gave me a prescription for some Gabapentin and I'll be going on Copaxone as soon as I am contacted to learn how to do the injections. I look forward to learning more about MS and everyone's experiences.
