MS Mobility Aids?? New here

I'm new to this site and wondering if anyone has advise on walking/Wheelchair devices? I currently use a cane but need something to sit on as I cannot walk long distances. I have a court date in November for disability and will need a wheelchair or transport chair and not sure what to get.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks 

I use a walkaide device for my foot drop. I was originally fitted for a brace which became useless after three months. My Neuro prescribed Ampyra which improved the speed of walking and distance. Now I use a Balance Wear vest which improves my balance and has helped my walking by keeping from staggering. But these aides may not work for every body and I dont know how long they will continue to work for me.

Thank you milesap. I tried Ampyra but got severe headaches. I might try it again. The more I walk the more my foot drags as I can't lift from the knee. Ugh!

Hi Melms,
I wear a fitted leg brace, it "catches" at my heel to prevent me from flexing my foot because I have drop-foot.
I can't use a cane for longer distances because my balance is terrible. Instead I use a walker, it has a seat and
hand brakes. If I get tired, I lock the brakes and sit down. It's great for me. Hope this helps!

Thank you elyse and dlynn!

I was looking on Costcos web site at the walker with the seat. I guess I need to realize I need to get one and quit telling myself I don't. My fatigue is so bad I get out of breath so fast. I have been avoiding any outings that require distance by foot. Ugh!

Thanks again for all your replies. :-)
