Hello!

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself.

I am a 35 year old female from Missouri. After having symptoms for a year and having them written off as something else, I was diagnosed with M.S. in September 2012. I am still trying to get a handle on this disease and educate myself as much as possible. Right around the time I was diagnosed, I lost my job and health insurance due to company downsizing and getting another job as proven to be difficult despite my best efforts. I am currently uninsured until I am able to get on my fiance's health insurance once we are married. Because of the health insurance obstacle and having a neurologist who is increasingly unwilling to work with me on that situation, managing this illness has become quite a pain (ha!) lately. I'm trying to enjoy the good days and, with the help of good people around me, hang in there on the bad days.

Since I'm still in the process of learning M.S., I look forward to hearing about others' experiences. And maybe I can be of help or benefit to people on here.

So, hi there!

Get the information and you will not need the doctors. All they can do is give you the toxic drugs and that is not the answer. The answer is the diet you choose. Let your food be your medicine and your medicine be your food. THat was the instruction from Hippocrates the father of western medicine but the doctors of today have forgotten this. You can find all you need to treat this disease in the diet section. According to Dr. McDougall there is a study done in England showing people who do the drugs do worse.

Hi taintedstar
welcome to "This Is MS". I was your age when I was diagnosed nearly 20 yrs. ago. I agree with want2bike, a healthy diet,
good food is good medicine. After having been diagnosed with MS for ten years, I let my neuro talk me into one of the DMDs'.
I wish I had never done it. It didn't change a thing, and the side effects were worse than the disease. I no longer see a neuro, I
was never helped by one. I stay busy and when I need to rest, I slow down.
