Can anyone help?

Hi, I have registered on this forum hoping maybe someone can help me. I had Graves disease 2 years ago and was very ill, last year through lack of response to meds they took my thyroid out. I am on a replacement thyroid but me levels are not quite right. I still feel ill, extreme fatigue, joints aching, pins and needles in left hand and foot, weak and very painful legs and puffy eyes. I saw a neurologist 2 weeks ago who sent me for a mri of brain and spine. Saw him for results today and he said it is unlikely i have ms but he won't rule it out. I have to go back in 3 months. I am perplexed because I have no answers. My quality of life is zero and I don't know how long i can go on like this. I can't work because I would not last the day. Does anyone have any comments. I am 59 and live in Australia

Ok. That sounds miserable.

I can't 'help', but can give some thoughts.

1. It can take years for a neurologist to decide MS or not. If the first mri showed lesions, then your diagnosis might happen sooner.
2. Symptoms can be treated without any diagnosis. If neurologist is not helpful, bother your GP/ primary care doc.
3. It might be worth bothering the endocrinologist to see if any of this is thyroid related at all. You say your levels are wrong, but it might not be thyroid related.
