Hi!

I have not been diagnosed with MS yet though my Neurologist suspects that I have it. I don't know if any of you have these symptoms because they don't quite fit the symptoms lists I see so I am a little confused.

My main symptom is pain. It feels like my body (mostly arms and legs) are covered in shin splints if that makes sense. Its not my muscles or joints, but feels like my nerves. Just an enormous amount of pain. I'm taking Neurontin and just started Elavil for this. I was having severe fatigue, but just started Amantadine and its working great. I also started having lower back pain today along with the severe leg pain. Oh, and I have a general feeling of "buzzing" through my body which I can feel worsen in my hands when I take a deep breath. Is this weird or what?

I had an episode when I was about 20 when my entire body went numb one day and the only residual effects I had was some numbness in my hands. This episode caused a sclerosis between C5 & C6.

My ANA tests have come back borderline and just positive. My sed rate is always high, and I had an elevated C-reactive protein test. I had the evoked potentials which showed something, but the neurologist who read it said it was due to my earlier sclerosis. I had MRI's done in March due to sinus surgery, which didn't show any other lesions (this was right before my symptoms appeared though), so my Neurologist wants to wait 6 months from then so insurance won't have a problem paying for it.

In the meantime I am really struggling. I have 2 sons- one who will be 6 tomorrow and one who is 16 months. Sorry to babble so long, but wanted to introduce myself, my situation, and see if anyone else had anything similar. Does this sound like MS? My neurologist also hasn't ruled out Lupus even though I tested negative and don't feel that I have the symptoms, and also thinks I might have a combination of something. She mentioned something about myelitis, which I can't seem to find much info on. She seems stumped. Any comments, advice, suspicions are most welcome.

Best regards,
Christine

If your Doctor said she is stumped, perhaps its time for a second opionion with another doctor..

Welcome to the forum, lots of great people here and wonderful information, best of luck to you .
