for all you ex-military people you'll know what "funegy" means..i'm 59 and was dx 15 yrs ago..i'm now SP and fading fast..that pretty much sucks..i'm looking for something that'll slow this freight train but to this point i haven't found anything..a bunch of anecdotal stories but nothing that seems to have been used widely by our fellow MS bretheren..i know we're all different and MS affects each of us differently but i sure would like to hear of something that works..oh well, it is what it is i guess..i inject betaseron every other day, i'm now taking novantrone by infusion once every 3 months, i take a bunch of seizure meds and some other stuff for neurologic pain..the seizures are about the only thing i seem to have a handle on..the pain seems to be untreatable..nothing works..didn't want this to turn in to a whine fest, but the above tells about my MS..othewise i'm liberal as hell and love a good discussion..i'll take either side just for the sake of argument..thanks for letting me rant.
Good Luck

Nice to meet you Mr Mezeppa sir !! LOL
Man I hope things get better for you, alot of good stuff here, maybe some help for you. Where are you from? if you don't mind me asking.
Me, well I was born and raised in Tx. Shucks we all drive Cadillacs w/ horns on the hood and got oil wells in the back yard.
I know the old millitary saying "steers and queers" LOL

hey arti...i'm from Okla City so i've heard all of those texas jokes..funny though i've never seen any of those caddy's w/horns parked in front of a house w/an oil well..old myths die hard huh?..like okla is still "grapes of wrath" land w/cowboys and indians riding around everywhere..i lived in houston for a few years and really liked it though i hardly ever find someone who actually believes that i liked it there..the traffic is pretty awful but once you find you're way around the surface streets it's not bad..lots to do..with all of that said i really don't want to live there again..also lived in portland, or for quite some time and loved it..great weather during the summer..thanks for replying to me..i'm hopeful that i can find something that will work for me, MS-wise,..maybe it's buried somewhere on this site

Hey Mezeppa

Good to meet you. Your experience is horrible, and I am sorry you find yourself at this point.
If there is anything to be found that may help you, this is the place to research it - check out both the Drug Pipeline, and Regimen Threads - you may find something either worth trying now, or that will give you some hope for the future.
I have had ms since about 1999, and although I still have relapses, my neuro is concerned that I am also becomming SP - so I share your concerns. I am on Avonex and also take a bunch of meds for neuropathic pain, muscle spasms etc. Fortunately, I get some relief from them - it may be worth trying other meds in the same class of drug (for pain relief) as different folks respond to different meds. I have tried a few so if you want to share notes, let me know - symptomatic releif, while not altering the course of the disease, can at least improve your current quality of life if the docs get it right. No one should suffer pain and my doc has been quite aggressive in finding a regimen that helps me (we are all different), so I have been through a few drugs...

Sure hope something starts going right for you real soon - all the best, and welcome to the site.
