New here, though not really, I've been reading for years.

I am a 43 year old wife and mom of 2, diagnosed in '04 with benign RRMS. My first symptom however was in 1988 with numbness that lasted about 4 months, saw a neuro at that time but was never diagnosed. More of a wait and see.

Fast forward 16 years later and same symptom crops up again, had MRI and was diagnosed. Had one bout of double vision in '05 then went on Copaxone. So far so good. Just wanted to say hi.

I probably will still keep a very low profile. I have to say I get rather intimidated by the intelligence on this board and prefer reading than contributing.

Back in '04 when I started my "quest" for knowledge I was very optimistic by the positive attitude and possibilities of great future treatments. Its a little disheartning to see many fall by the wayside and by the length of time it takes to get new treatments approved.

I am doing very well on Copaxone, but like everyone I want to be rid of this...I don't want to spend another morning testing all my body parts to make sure nothing was taken during the night.

I do not think I have ever heard of someone being dx with "with benign RRMS"? Just wanted to know more about that, what does it mean? Thanks

I think I was diagnosed benign because of the length of time (16 years) between exacerbations and that I recovered 100%. Also, I think, because of the type of symptoms (sensory). Truthfully, I couldn't explain any more to you this is just what I was told. I have had 3 attacks in 20 years, all were during times in my life of extremely high stress. I'm not really sure what benign means but I love the sound of it!

no disabilty after 16 years sounds benign indeed!
