Hello all!

I have been surfing these message boards over the past week or so since my RRMS diagnosis. I am a 47 year old female with two children (ages 6 and 9) and a very supportive husband. It appears from the MRI, historical symptoms and medical history, that I have had this for some time. I have no active lesions and I am starting to feel better and the bad symptoms are starting to subside.

My drugs arrived today and I start my meds this weekend. Mostly I am experiencing some anxiety about the anticipation of the meds and just want to get it over with.

Over the past year I have been very disciplined about my diet. I have been gluten free for over a year and now beginning to limit my dairy. I don't drink or smoke. I exercise regularly, but my ability to walk has been substantially compromised recently. Depression has been part of my life for a long period of time and walking has always be helpful to me....so it is scary to have trouble with that. I am hopeful that time will help that improve.

I look forward to the relationships with others on this board and to learn and explore a full range of ideas that have helped others feel better mentally and physically and to better manage the daily issues with MS. Thank you!

Hi pager -

Welcome to TIMS....

What kind of meds are you on?

It sounds like you are a very discipined person w/diet and excersize although difficulty w/walking and depression are creeping ever so vigilantly.

Depression is a shadow companion w/ms...I had to go on meds for it (preferred not to but the alternative was not an option) and it has helped w/ coping with ms and other stressors.

Hi Pager,
Welcome to the site. So sorry you find yourself here, but it's a terrific community. My husband was diagnosed later in life, like you (43) but he had depression and fatigue issues for many years. We figure those were his first MS symptoms, and that's why it took awhile for diagnosis. You're doing all the right stuff w/diet and exercise. Keep your body and blood moving!
all the best,
cheer
