MS.... MAYBE?

I have had the worst two weeks of my life - PERIOD. I hurt my back roughly two weeks ago after I realized my lower body was getting fairly weak. I went to the gym and did a lot of exercises to strengthen it only to find I had lost a TON of muscle strength in a month. I had been in a car accident three months prior and blamed it on this.

Well my back quickly began to hurt more than I ever thought possible. At the same time my legs became unbelievably weak, I could barely walk. Its been a week now since the worst symptoms of my back pain began but other things apeared with it. Sexual dysfunction, urinary problems (feeling like I needed to go, feeling like bladder was full and couldnt get it all out). I felt like i lost some sensation in my genital area and bladder but not numb or tingly.

Since my back and been hurting these symptoms and feet tingling randomly were seen as symptoms of a herniated disc. Something felt SERIOUSLy wrong though and I kept going to the hospital, urgent care, and doctor. I can walk normal now but it is still very weird feeling, still have urinary, sexual issues, and dysphoria. It felt as if the lower half of my body was disconnected from the rest of my body in a slight but horrible way.

I have had CT scan, MRI, Xrays of my lower back and no disc compression, no herniated discs. The doctor says my muscle strength is fairly good but that there is no reason why I should have the symptoms I do.

Does this sound like it could be MS? Should I hurry into a doctor's office again? I have gone so many times in the past week or two and no answers..... What do I do next?

I am 23 yr old male.

Edit: Over the past week my symptoms have improved. I can walk longer distances and stand normal(ish). I also had a weird mental experience about a month and a half ago where I was confused all the time. The doctor I saw today he thought I was experiencing somatoform. Im not sure how the recover stuff works or doesnt work. I have no idea what I am supposed to do now to get to the bottom of what has happened to me in the past two weeks but my body feels different.

MS shares alot of symptoms with MS...spastic bladder= go all the time or can't go at all, lower body weakness, usually starts on one side of the body, and lack of sensation dull to numb to tingly , walking issues which normally start with a drop foot ( I used to trip over an ant if it were in from of me) and worst of all is that foggy head...cottonball head...thick head argh!

It sounds like something is wrong for sure, MRI's of brain, neck, and spine; lumbar puncture to test for excessive antibodies, are the two most used for evidence of MS.

You have found the right place to ask questions, look for additional inforamtion and feel comfortable with the people who reside in thisisms.

Being your own advocate can open doors for you if you do the research...you are on your way,

its very weird.... my foot didnt drop or feel weird it was actually the top of my legs but they both felt super heavy or disconnected. I do feel like I have to go alot and lost feeling in that special area lol (though some feeling is coming back).

I havent had one side feel more numb or anything like that but the way the lower half of my body felt was the scariest thing I have ever gone through. Would the MRI have picked up MS damage on the nerves in my lower back or would it still be in brain? Trying to walk faster than 2mph was IMPOSSIBLE and even painful. Now that I look back I dont even know how I hurt my back and noticed weakness WAY before it hurt.

One weird thing is I noticed improvement on cortosteroids but didnt have a disc problem.... WEIRD. :(

at one time i was on solumedral which i had fantastic highs mentally and physically. but this is symptom management. both my legs are free wheeling.. as well as other spasticity. i have the dreaded ms hug amd both my legs have hyperflection where the montra is stiff as a board.

Pending the MRI's that you had many dx'd are for brain. certical spine and thorax spine. Lower spine suggests lumbar disc etc and that has not been associated w/ ms at this time.
