Questions on the Symptoms

I am at the begining stages of being test for MS. I had an episode where my entire left side went numb for about 3 hours (on vacation of course!) and then I regained feeling and movement. After a visit with my doctor, his first thought is MS. I have my MRI at the end of this week and I am incredibly worried. I have a few odd symptoms and I'm wondering if others have had this or if my doctor has possibly passed on a wrong initial diagnosis.
For the past month, my toes and fingers have periods of tingles with the occasional 'pins and needles' feelings. When this happens, it doesn't last more than 10 minutes. Since my episode of my left side going numb, which was 2 weeks ago, my left arm has been in pain. I'm not sure the correct way to describe it...I have full use of my arm without pain, nothing is actually wrong with it, but there is a lot of pain in my arm, starting from my shoulder and working down to my hands...I guess it's more of a burning feeling. Well a few days after going numb, it started to spread to my back and neck, it has made it's way to my right arm, and is now in my feet working up my legs. I'm not really numb, I just really burn and sting.
The burning feeling is also not always at a level 10 of pain, it progresses through the day. Does this happen to anyone? I usually wake up with moderate pain, and once I get moving, it goes to a mild, irritating pain and by about 3pm it gradually goes back to moderate pain, and then an awful pain by about 6pm until I go to bed. I am constantly waking up in pain, so I'm not really sleeping much - so I can't really say that I have fatigue, just lack of sleep.
And yesterday, I took some asprin, hoping to ease some of the burn and then found that my legs felt very unstable, sort of like a stiff jello. As I walked, I wondered if they were going to give out on me. I'm not sure if this was due to the asprin or if something more was going on. Has anyone had this type of feeling before?
