The postural muscles are located along the edges of the spine.

I have been working at relaxing these muscles for 8 months through massage and physiotherapy and I'm seeing improvements in my SPMS. It is a slow process but I am improving.

I recommend anyone with MS get these muscles worked on.

magnesium is great for muscle spasticity too. dark leafy greens every day, plus at least one 400mg magnesium glycinate caplet (I use Carlson). Fantastic!

My chiro uses a technique called Graston--special metal instruments (some can get into areas fingers cannot) used softly to ease out the adhesions, etc that cause problems with muscle retractions, etc.
Had difficulty standing fully straight prior to her work--had no idea of the adhesions, which had formed over time. Incredible difference in range of motion after her work.

And as Jimmylegs says, the Mg is super important. The carlson and Dr's Best are the two Glycinate forms of Magnesium that use the Albion form of chelation--so far the best.
