Hello folks,

Sorry for the delay in getting back w/ you Barbara and MacKintosh. Been in outer space for the past few days. Nothing earth shattering to report except that the fog is starting to clear once again, that's a plus. No other changes that I've noticed good or bad.

Good luck Mac on your flagg pluse. How many days are you shooting for?

How have you been Barbara. Getting back in the sync of things after your trip I guess.

Roy, I thought you just finished a pulse of Flagyl a few days ago! Are you trying to get ahead of all of us?

Best wishes
B.

Roy - I did just short of five days, but only at 1000mg/day, rather than the 1200mg David Wheldon prescribes. I was worried about reactions, so didn't overload the first time out. As it happens, I had virtually NO reaction to taking the flagyl until day five (last night, when my walking got a little shaky and my face started to flush pink any time I exerted myself a bit. I quit it one pill early, as I have two holiday parties to go to tonight and wanted to be able to have a glass of wine and be sociable. My response to flagyl in the past has been nil, so I lucked out. I even drank at a dinner once (a few years ago) and had forgotten I'd taken flagyl - no bad reaction to the alcohol, either, but I wouldn't go out of my way to test that again!
Who knows what the next pulse will bring (should be the week between Christmas and New Year's, I think).

Hello folks.

Yeah finished the first one a few day's ago. I need to get ready to chase Rica's goats next July when she come back home to Indiana for the National's. Sounded like a good reason though.

Actually Barbara, Dr. Sriram wanted me on flagyl for 3 weeks then a break for a week and then start it all again. I'll give it a try again and see how far I make it this time.

That great to hear Mac. Glad you had no SX’s do be careful with the alcohol, that's one reason I quit the earlier Flagg pulse early. My flagyl pulses are 1500 mg, 500mg three times daily.

Hello folks,

Day 5 of flagyl, things are kinda fuzzy.

My ABX protocol now is Rifampin 300 mg twice a day, azithromycin 500 mg every other day and flagy 3 t/d 3 weeks on and one week off.

I was thinking about adding Doxycline to the mix, any pro or cons.

Hi, Roy!

I still think you want to get ahead of us. In my opinion what you are presently doing is enough, but you better consult Dr. Sririam.

Hello Roy,

Yes, I gave up doxycycline for rifampicin for six months, then swapped back when I went onto intermittent therapy, because you can't use rifampicin this way. Personally I think the fewer abx you can get away with the better. Some people to be taking everything under the sun at the moment. It must be very time consuming to work out when to take what!

Hello Barbara,

Not really, just seems that I was doing better on the doxy/roxy combo than I have lately. Just thought I would add it to the daily intake of plastic coatings.

I did get my local Nero to write a script for 50,000 IU of Vitamin D, to take once a week instead of a handful daily of 400 IU.

I do have an e-mail into Ram but I haven't got a response yet.

Hello Sarah,

Cling, toast. Congratulations on your NY acceptance. That’s a great recognition.

I agree it can be confusing keeping up with it all. I'm thankful for the computer. Did you notice anything different when you changed from one to the other?

Did I? Yes.

Rifampicin is totally lacking in imunomodulation, so as you are finding, it is bound to make you feel a bit worse for a time. I was glad to be back on doxycycline!
