My Regimen

After reading several of others' posts, I feel disheartened. I am on a ton of medication for multiple symptoms whereas others are taking next to nothing. However, that being said, what works for one does not work for others, or, the pain medication and others have stopped working for some. I was diagnosed in late 2009 and my regimen is as follows:

Dilauded 8 mg @ 4 times/day - obviously for pain
Primidone 50 mg @ 4 times/day - for tremors in my hands
Baclofen 20 mg @ 4 times/day - muscle spasms
Aubagio 14 mg daily - DMD
Lexapro 20 mg @ 2 times/day - depression
Ativan 1 mg @ 4 times/day - anxiety
Dilantin 200 mg @ 2 times/day - trigeminal neuralgia and peripheral neuropathy
Focalin XR @ 2 times/day - stay awake during the day
Zofran prn - neurological nausea
Amitiza 8 mg - opioid induced constipation
Oxybutnin @ 2 times/day - bladder spasms and incontinence

My 15 year old says I am a walking pharmacy and I know she is right but there is not much I can do about it. Without any one of those things I would lose some particular function. Whether it be my ability to walk, hold a pencil without flinging it across the room accidentally, stay relatively sane, move my bowels, or hold my lunch, each one has a particular necessary function.

wow...that's a lot of meds....you were right..did you ever think of taking milk thistle for your liver? That is a heavy load on your liver girl! Think some people that take a lot of medication also take that to help liver along...(of course you must ask doctor first to make sure it does not interact with your current meds)..hopes of you feeling better! God Bless...

hi and welcome :) that is so much stuff! reminds me of my uncle's box of drugs - every problem on his list could be addressed at least in part by optimizing magnesium status. try reading up on magnesium deficiency, see how many of your symptoms are on that list... could be worth looking into.. mag can be a bit of a toughie but there's tons of info here if you decide to take steps to investigate
