This is completely consistent with my view on demyelination. It is the behavior of water with lipids that counts, not an autoimmune model. Our problem is metabolic so it is the nature of other malfunctions in our system that you should attend to. I continue to remain very well by focusing on limiting Peroxynitrite and iNOS

Hi Scott,

this is beautiful thinking. if confirmed you deserve the Nobel prize.

your thinking should be put in the big melting pot together with that Terry Wahls, Swank/Jelinek and others.

I think the solution for MS is up for grabs.

best regards, Leo

Thanks Leo,

I'm rather sorry I made it sound so complex but it was the best I could do. The only prize I would worry about is hearing someone other than me got better.
I agree the answer isn't far away. I think it is out there already. The problem is the pattern of thinking by most is too linear rather than lateral and everybody wants a magic bullet. I do think it is the sum of all the things you do that makes a difference and it will take time to be effective.

Back in October 2011 I started taking 1 large glass of Carrot juice per day to boost RXR by elevating 9 cis retinoic acid levels. I have finally hit a level that is leading to people commenting this week that my skin is a little yellow (hardly noticeable but 3 unprompted comments is enough). For me, it has therefore taken 2 years and 7 months to reach a saturation level. I will back off now and only pulse the carrot juice going forward. I feel really good so I will regards the experiment as worthwhile. It's probably time to check a few levels now.

Hi scott1,

Not that I think you've done anything to compromise your liver but I thought yellow skin was indicative of liver issues and orange skin was a sign someone may have drank too much carrot juice. Is your yellow just a light shade of orange? Will you check liver levels just to be sure?

It's extremely subtle. I can't see it myself but three people commented independently. The first noticed in a certain light, the second thought I looked really well but lightly tanned and the third just made a comment. That's enough warning for me. A lighter shade of orange is probably the case. If you didn't know me you wouldn't notice it. I'm not troubled by it and probably won't check the liver, just back off the carrot juice a bit.

I am doing a couple of "secret things" to see what happens and I am suspicious about one of them playing a role. It's better I don't bring them up till I have a better understanding.

Secret??? You're doing secret stuff???

You do realize you're torturing the ebvers now that we know you're using secret weapons. When might we expect to be relieved of our curiosity?

Anonymoose, I was going to write, "Let the man have his privacy, for crying out loud" but now I am getting curious too. Oh well, the man needs his privacy.

Lol! It's not nice to run around the playground chanting you have a secret. He deserves some razzing!

Well it wouldn't be a secret if I told you.

I have a strange way of looking at things. This one needs some time and I don't want anybody hurting themselves by leaping into the lava just because I did.

Be patient.

Fine, just be that way then. :| ......

Quite understandable actually.

Hi,

I think my "secret stuff" was the cause of my discoloration. I've gone back to the carrot juice with no problems at all.

I've decided not to discuss what I did just to avoid any misinterpretation. It was pretty "out there". If someone ever raises the idea, I'll shoot it down. It's better left alone.

If anyone finds the link between my approach and the work on Zonulin posted elsewhere it would be very valuable. I'm sure there is but I just can't nail it.

Carrot juice is restored to it's exalted position.

Regards

Ok, I guess we won't be doing the "secret stuff", whatever that is. :?

Regarding the carrot juice, I have a Solo Star 2 juicer and would like to juice carrots. How much carrot juice have you been drinking?

A large glass a day is enough. I am 6ft tall and 80kgs (176lbs if I calculated correctly) and that is a good amount for me. If you are little then it might be too much.

I don't know the brand of juicer you have but you do want a juice not a sludge or the texture will make it less attractive.
Originally, I thought little carrots would taste better but its the big ones that are sweeter. The little ones can be bitter. I like a good chunk of fresh ginger to spice it up a bit but that's just me. Just make it fresh. Bottled stuff wouldn't make the cut for me.

When I started taking it my nose ran like a tap for a month although I felt quite well. I'd be interested to hear if that happens to anyone else. It may be just coincidence as I am a sample of one but it was a strange thing to happen.
