There, the same injury that I had as a teenager and I have never been bothered with it since, so glad you had it checked!

True... I am glad I had it checked also. When you weigh as much as I do it is bound to do some damage eventually. I just hope they don't amputate instead of fixing my ACL ;-)

Ha, I don't think they do amputations as an OP procedure!

LOL, well with my luck, it would turn in to a hospital stay...

Been a while since I last posted. I can report that I've had no issues still. Obviously I am hoping it stays this way.

I had knee surgery to fix the torn meniscus I had (they thought it was an ACL problem).

I am still on Minocycline 100mg twice daily. I miss doses from time to time, but still have had no adverse affects due to MS or otherwise. Aside from the fact that I get a reminder everytime I have to take my Minocycline, I forget I have MS. I hope it is the Minocycline that is doing me good, but who knows, it could be the natural course as well.

Update:

Still relapse and MS symptom free... However! I have stopped taking minocycline for now.

I have been having some intestinal issues (I had one pale colored stool, however it could have been food too?), and I've also been having pain that feels like its coming from my liver. I went to the doctor and the took a ton of blood work and the only thing that was abnormal were my Liver Enzymes AGAIN. The nurse said they were "slightly" elevated. I would like to see the actual lab results (and will get them soon).

Of course I worry too much, and thats the one thing thats bad about the internet for me. I read way too much, and then I start thinking everything is wrong with me and that I have liver or pancreatic cancer.

To get back to the point though, I stopped taking mino and will see what happens. I went in today for a full abdominal ultrasound and nuclear functional scan of my gall bladder and liver. The US was negative for any problems (except for the fatty liver I am sure), but I don't have the results back from the 2nd scan.

I am hoping that stopping Mino will not cause me to have a relapse, however if it does I will know pretty quick what was preventing me from having a relapse before.

Hi Brock,

Glad to hear you are doing well.

I take antibiotics too. Do you take a probiotic to counter the effects?

No I don't, I probably should be though eh? I wasn't sure if mino would kill off my intestinal bacteria or not?

What would your recommend? Would yogurt be sufficient?

Yes indeed, I think you have found the source of your problem!

Unfortunately yogurt would not be strong enough.

I use these:

http://www.iherb.com/ProductDetails.asp ... d=383&at=0

I like them because they are stabilized.

I have 10 pills a day. Buy some and do some experiments as to how many you need. My guess is probably that you'll need to really load up on them for a week or so before cutting down to about 5-7 pills a day.

Though maybe someone else might have a recommendation?

I hope this sorts out your guts!

I think you should probably take these 2 hours away from the minocycline as with calcium supplements. 8)

I take these: http://www.vitacost.com/Garden-of-Life-Primal-Defense

When I was on abx I took two a day after my evening meal, but now I still take one. The beauty of them is that they don't need to be kept refrigerated so you are less likely to forget to take them, but, as Gibbledygook says you should always take probiotics at least two hours apart from antibiotics.

Update:

Noticing very slight L'hermittes sign, with sensation felt in left leg on top-outer part of thigh.

I've been complacent about my dosing and also I've been missing all together taking minocycline every few days. In retrospect, I really shouldn't have been missing or shorting my dosages.

I am back on religiously. Will update if L'hermittes turns in to something worse.

Update:

Symptom gone after about 3 days of constant minocycline use (100 mg , twice daily). No other symptom or deficits to report.

Also, I've been getting ahold of provigil from a friend of mine and using it from time to time. It really is great stuff.
