My new friend, Tamiflu.

Hi, I didn't want to post this at the end of my own regimen, where it may be lost.
I have had MS symptoms for over ten years. In that 10ys I cannot remember any time where a relapse was not preceded by a cold or flu. They appear to be my only trigger for a relapse. Anyway, I recently got a script for an anti-viral called Tamiflu, in preparation for my next infection. Well, last week, I started to come down with a flu (Monday, feeling achy, shivers, headache and cough). So, when I got home, I took a Tamiflu. The next day, the flu was all but gone. I continued to take the capsules (2 a day, for 5 days). By the end of the 2nd day, I had no fever, and was feeling fine. So I took a precautionary 75mg single dose of Prednisone before bed. Two days of 75mg usually stops a relapse when it is happening. Anyway, to cut a long story short, I didn't have a relapse.
So for the first time in ten years, I was able to avoid a relapse!!!!
I actually had a flu a few weeks prior, but only took Amantadine (another anti-viral, but Tamiflu is considered much better). On that occasion, I had a VERY minor relapse, so much so, I think I actually came out of it better than what I did going in. I haven't been keeping my graph up to date, but I have been mentally recording my times of my exercise, and its been slowly going up, and my clonus has been slowly fading.
Tamiflu only works for certain viruses, and my symptoms completely matched the leaflet that came with the medicine. This technique is a MAJOR part of my new regimen. I have to go now and write an email to my doc for another back-up script of Tamiflu. Its also not cheap. In Australia, most medications are subsidised by the Govt, but this one isnt. It cost me $54AUD. My normal chemist says he can get me it for $40AUD
