I've been rotating throughout the weeks between Acetyl-L-Carnitine / Lipoic acid, Glycine, N-Acetylglucosamine, Glucosamine Chondroitin and even Milk Thistle 1000 Mgs.

It all sounds so scary doesn't it.

I feel extremely good the past three months, much better than on any of the useless needles and pills the neuros have given me.

Do any of you take any of the above listed? I am also on Copaxone, but I didn't start feeling my oats again until I started taking supplements on my own terms.

Hi,

I've been taking lots of n acetyl carnitine and alpha lipoic acid for years and can't say I've noticed anything! Maybe it's the n acetyl glucosamine...

It seems like the combo is helpful. I've noticed an increase of energy with the carnitine and my mood seems to be much better.

I've had this theory that I cannot process certain fatty acids, as every time I eat something remotely fatty, an hour later the skin of my face smells like a sharpie marker.

Perhaps I need metabolic treatment. Perhaps this is related to my MS, but I can't say for sure.

I know that Isovaleric Acidemia is treated with IV injected Carnitine and Glycine.

That is a metabolic disorder that causes a putrid odor.... That was a worrysome thought in my head recently. Thing is, I don't have any other symptom of the rare Isovaleric Acidemia.

However, a metabolic specialist told me over the phone that it is isovaleric acid I am indeed smelling through my pores, so somethings might not be right with my metobolism.

You might want to add N acetyl cysteine as well as the antibiotic crowd are very keen on this and I believe an Israeli team have tried to patent something very similar to this as a neuronal anti inflammatory. I've been taking this for years too, though and haven't noticed any benefits. I'm beginning to think that absolutely nothing helps with this disease!
