I found the following, which, although not MS specific, seems something positive.
Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences reports that researchers have extracted adult stem cells from fatty tissue (adipose) and turned them into smooth muscle cells
In addition, there would be no need to use anti-rejection drugs. Rodriguez is currently trying to identify and develop growth factors that will speed up the transformation of adipose stem cells.

And although this story is WAY old (2000), it was very specific.
A week after transplantation, they detected mouse cells in the damaged region. Most of these cells had become oligodendrocytes, presumably in response to signals from the demyelinated cord. Moreover, these oligodendrocytes were functional. "We found very rapid myelination," McDonald says. "We even saw tightly wrapped axons within a week after transplantation."
