just to keep the info together. there seems to be some indication that the technique (from another post about other types of adult stem cells) of converting skin cells to stem cells, may cause cancerous cells ==> http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21996417/
The technique for converting the skin cells involves using viruses to insert several genes, one of which is known to cause cancer.

from my understanding ALL stem cell treatments have a cancer concern of some form. The above could just be slide comment from a competitor from a different branch.

I dont KNOW either, but it is a strong memory. The idea is that when stem cells do multiply, there is a risk that we can not control them to stop. I will see if I can find where I got it from.

from memory, I think I heard it in youtube videos, so no searching. But I tried a single search in Google, and the third story was http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/4465717.stm
Experts have long known that stem cells harvested from embryos can turn cancerous.
and the story talks how adult stem cells are potentially also cancerous.
