H2O2 hydrogen peroxide

Anyone ever try 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide? Suppose to be the one minute cure all. I was thinking about trying it, wanted to know if anyone already tried it

This is really CRAZY I hope someone will get this posting removed before some dumb poor sick person actually tries this.

This is NOT like taking some extra vitamin D3 or Vitamin C.

This process is identical to what occurs with epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) in green tea except that there are many more R-OH's available, 8 in EGCG versus 2 in ascorbic acid. This is what makes EGCG a more potent antioxidant.

So, now that we understand that hydrogen peroxide produces free radicals and thereby induces oxidative stress, it is important to note that oxidative stress is one of the means by which the immune system attacks foreign invaders such as cells infected by bacteria or viruses or cells which posses epitopes which the immune system mistakenly identifies as foreign such a myelin proteins in MS. In essence, oxidative stress can worsen MS. Injecting a substance such as hydrogen peroxide which increases oxidative stress is thus biochemically counterintuitive.

Another example of the dangers of oxidative stress is with an overdose of acetaminophen. The metabolites of acetaminophen are toxic and are rendered less harmful by the liver by using up some of its stores of glutathione (a naturally occurring antioxidant in the body). Under normal dosages, the body is able to compensate for this activity. However, an overdose of acetaminophen will use up a large percentage of the liver's available glutathione resulting in liver failure.
In conclusion, I still won't be consuming any hyrogen peroxide any time soon. However, I do find it useful for cleaning my toothbrush by soaking it overnight.

We find it useful at the Vet clinic for making dogs puke when they have injested something toxic, like their owners bottle of thyroid meds.

Other than that, think I will give it a miss but thanks all the same.

I know it's an old post, but I understand that the poster was referring to the use of the food grade type (not the one used by vets to induce vomiting), following the protocol that calls for it to be diluted.

If it is the case that additional oxygen in the blood only causes oxidation and generation of more free radicals, then that doest lead me to ask:

1. Why doest ozone therapy provide releaf and improvement to MSers?

2. Why does exercise (algo gets more oxygen into the blood and body), provide so many benefits?

Just curious...

p.s. it seems that there are more people investigating the use of HP in this way, ive yet to see if its credible research or not...

I add 3% food grade H2O2 to my drinking water and I like it. Maybe it does nothing for me, and maybe it helps me feel more oxygenated.

You might want to add that "3%" food grade to this DHMO as recommended in this web site at the Dihydrogen Monoxide Research Division (DMRD). You will get all kinds of additional benefits as detailed in this execellent web site.
