great video-especially the part about the hot seat
I don't know why people have such confidence in Dr. Oz just because he is good looking and charismatic. The Dr. Oz show is basically an entertainment show. They can't talk about basic nutritional principles and health screening every day and stay on the air-they have to mix it up and talk about things people want to talk about.

I think people like Dr. Oz because he will at least discuss alternative therapies. Most doctors will only go with FDA approved whatever (drugs, devices etc). Oz will look into other ways of treating patients. You are right, his show is entertainment. However, there is some value in his exposing new ideas to people.

Lori-there is definitely some value in what he does. He does try to encourage healthy behavior in general such as improving diet, exercise, and avoiding smoking.
