Food Allergies

I have just been diagnosed with an allergy to eggs, seriously eggs!? I eat a lot of eggs. Studying this I have learned of the immune response related to it and as I was reading that info it sounded like I was reading MS 101. Maybe it's time for a food allergy poll. By the way, I have also discovered there is egg in certain vaccines and I have always been suspicious of a battery of vaccines (trip to S. America) that I received about 8 to 10 months before my first symptoms. Hmmmmm.....

Hey Lars...
Bummer! We love eggs, too! Nick has written on the boards re: food protein allergies in MS-

Egg allergies usually show up early in kids, and are also related to respiratory/sinus issues. That reminds me of someone...
Do you think you've always been allergic, or do you think your immune system is hyper-reactive now? Think it might have been the combo of the vaccine virus + egg? So many questions.

I have been tested for allergies / tolerance a number of times (via blood & a weird electronic method I think is related to "Hulda Clarke Zappers") , and basically came out clean.

I've have yet to have a "scratch test", and have always wanted to do one. I also have not really tried a true exclusion diet through all the possibilities.

However, I do not explicitly eat or add eggs to anything.

I was tested for allergies by my chiropractor soon after DX. Found out I was allergic to calcium which my neuro said was impossible because the body is made up of calcium. Well, after going through an allergy elimination program for calcium, I am finally getting some results. My bone density test showed improvement (this is after fifteen years of these tests showing bone deterioration). Now when I take my calcium tablet I know that it is not getting sloughed off - it is actually being absorbed. Interestingly, my neuro has taken notice of the change and has changed his opinion to some degree. I have also tested allergic to citric acid which is in everything from soda pop to salad dressings. Needless to say I think allergies are a dynamic in MS and when you have them your body is stressing.

The allergy program I went through was NAET (you can google it on the Internet) Some people say it is "hokey, pokey", but I say, "don't knock it if you haven't tried it."
