The doc just stuck with the basic Wheldon protocol of Doxy and Azithromycin and the supplements. Will add Flagyl in 3 months.

His thought was if it didn't work and I became resistant to them, there were others that could substitue for them in the event of an infection.

Today I am having severe L leg muscle spasms. It hurts to walk and even stand in the shower. I only had mild ones in the past. Is it too soon for a J-H reaction?

Hello Karen,

You doctor's reasoning is perfectly valid, but resistance is unlikely taking the two together.

A Herxheimer reaction can start nearly as soon as you start the abx. Mine, which just took the form of a fluey feeling and an incredibly runny nose, started the day after. I also felt very sleepy: in fact I slept a lot of the day for the first couple of weeks. Everyone is different though, probably because everyone's lesions are in different places.

Keep us informed, and the very best wishes,

Sarah :)

ABX is not my forte but even Betaseron Rebif and Avonex have the flu like symptoms and they proclaim you are being helped. Just a point to take into consideration. Also the first time John took Copaxone he nearly passed out he was sore for a few days and was scared to even do another shot. He is fine now. Just some comparisons.
