Although most antibiotics today still work in the majority of people, how effective will such drugs be in the future? Bacteria as well as viruses and fungi have also shown to be resilient germs. What, then can be done? Can resistance be eliminated or at least contained?

If they are taken properly, which in the case here, means taking the two bacteristatics in synergy, in sufficient dosages and not stopping nd starting willy-nilly, resistance of the pathogen can be avoided. Read here:

It is not just Cpn that is being treated effectively with two or three antibiotics. Researchers are beginning to discover that more resistent bugs can be treated by a cocktail of antibitotics. What is really important is that the treatment goes on long enough for the bacteria to be eliminated. As Sarah says stopping and starting is not good.
