How are the antibiotics working for you?

robbie,

I really can't tell any difference in my health from the time I started taking them until now. It is like I am swallowing nasty tasting sugar pills.

I do plan to take them for a year though in case something good kicks in later in the next few months.

Thanks for asking.

The doctor at Vanderbilt that Ken and his wife and loriyas saw told both that the antibiotics do not help all patients and that he did not know why.

Maybe I am one that will not be helped, but I felt it was worth a try since there is nothing else out there for SPMS.

I have been stable for many years, although slowly getting worse. This may be due to the load of vitamins I take every day or it may just be the course of the disease.

I think that you should stay on the antibiotics and get the second pill and third pill and try them for a year if you can get the scripts. The abx protocol is obviously helping some people that have been SPMS for a long time.

I'm just going to ride it out now, no more drugs for me- to far along- like reading about others who are just starting out getting help from all this different stuff though. I just know my heading and what is going to happen.I know this site has no room for pessimism, just keep trying till you drop but i am to tired for that, maybe 10 years ago. There is only a small precentage of us that continue to worsen till death due us part and in my case i have drawn the short straw, haven't given up just accepted it, good luck to u.

Oh Robbie, please please don't give up! Continue the antibiotics and add to them as you go. You need to try something to fight this. Go with this since you have already started. There are ups and downs, no doubt, but at least you are trying something. And there are so many people here who care about you. We are all here to help each other.

my own thought

Yes, that is what we were told, but we also got a pretty hopeful context from the the conversation.

My own thought on this topic is that dosage matters. I think this also might be the case with NAG.

I've read enough about ABX to understand that for best results you need to follow a process. I don't know if you've been on the full protocol and followed the sequence of stepping up your attack on the bacteria, but I do think in much of this stuff, dosage is an oft ignored factor. Ken
